Description
This kiln-fused glass panel captures the quiet stillness of a stag standing within a forest of slender trees.
The artwork is built from seven layers of glass, creating depth and atmosphere within the scene. Five of the layers are hand painted with Dove enamels in soft aurora red tones, forming the trees, mist and distant woodland. When stacked together, the layers create a subtle sense of distance and perspective, allowing the stag to appear softly within the forest.
Once painted, the layers are kiln fused into a single solid block of glass and then hand polished to produce smooth, light-catching edges.
The finished panel has a sculptural presence. Light travels through the glass layers, gently revealing the forest scene within.
Each piece is individually handmade, so slight variations in tone and texture are part of the character of the work.
Perfect for display on a shelf, windowsill or illuminated surface where the glass can interact with changing light.
