Crafty Women Collective

A Collective of Contemporary Makers
Crafty Women is a contemporary craft collective bringing together Wiltshire-based artists working with traditional techniques, handmade processes and experimental approaches to materials. United by a shared love of making, the collective celebrates the creativity that emerges when craft traditions meet contemporary artistic practice.
Through the online gallery and local exhibitions, Crafty Women provides a space where visitors can discover distinctive work created with curiosity, care and skill.
Our Story
Crafty Women grew from a shared belief in the value of handmade processes and the creative possibilities that emerge through experimentation. While each artist works with different materials and visual languages, they are connected by a commitment to craftsmanship and the tactile qualities of objects made by hand.
At the heart of the collective is Craft Friday, a bi-monthly gathering where the artists come together to experiment, explore new techniques and inspire one another. These sessions provide time to play, learn and exchange ideas, often sparking new directions within each artist’s individual practice.
Alongside their own studios and exhibitions, the collective offers a platform where artists can present work together, supporting one another while maintaining their own distinctive creative voices.
As Crafty Women grows, new artists will be invited to join, expanding the range of work while continuing to celebrate the spirit of collaboration and curiosity that sits at the heart of the project.
Our Work
The artists of Crafty Women work across a wide range of materials and techniques, from glass and printmaking to sculpture and contemporary craft processes. Each piece reflects the time, experimentation and care that comes with making by hand.
The result is a collection of work that values individuality, craftsmanship and the quiet beauty of objects created through thoughtful making.
The spirit of Craft Friday — curiosity, experimentation and shared learning — continues to shape the work shown here.
